The Underfloor Service Box consists of
three main components :
- A Basic Box
- A Service Trap and Frame
- An Epoxy-coated service outlet
panel
The basic box comes complete with a
steel throw-away screening lid, thus
preventing ingress of screed into the box
during screeding and act as a screed depth
datum. The side plates of the basic box
are designed to be used for trunking and
conduit entries. The perforated tab may be
raised to allow the trunking to be put
into place. Alternatively, 20mm conduit
entries may be utilized by simply removing
the "knockouts". The basic box is
factory-set to suit the 56mm screed depth.
The depth of the box can be adjusted from
56mm to 72mm.
The service trap and frame come with
6mm recess for carpet finish (flange edge)
and 9mm for tile finish (trim edge). For
6mm recess, the trap is constructed from
high pressure die-cast alloy and the
grommets with cable retainers are hinged
on to the trap as well as being fully
independent of the frame. The light grey
coloured frame, grommets, handles and
hinges are moulded from engineering
plastic (Nylon 66) which gives greater
mechanical strength, and is impact
resistant as well as fire retardant. For
9mm recess both the trap and frame are
constructed from high pressure die-cast
alloy. The cable retainer is flushed with
the trap and can be easily retreated to
close/flush position when the service box
is not in use.
Standard epoxy-coated outlet panels
suitable for power, voice and data will be
provided according to suppliers'
requirements.
